Day 1: Bangkok – Ayutthaya World Heritage
07:00 Depart Bangkok for Ayutthaya, the former capital of Thailand.
Visit Wat Phu Khao Thong, originally built in 1387 by the second king of the Ayutthaya Kingdom. Later, in 1569, the Burmese king constructed a Mon-style chedi on top of the original structure to commemorate his victory over Ayutthaya.
Continue to Ayutthaya Historical Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Explore the ancient royal palace grounds and visit Wat Phra Sri Sanphet, once the most important royal temple of the Ayutthaya period, located beside the Grand Palace.
Adjacent is Viharn Phra Mongkol Bophit, housing one of Thailand’s largest seated bronze Buddha images in a beautifully restored assembly hall.
Enjoy a Thai buffet lunch at a local restaurant.
After lunch, visit Wat Lokaya Sutha, home to Ayutthaya’s largest reclining Buddha (8 m high and 42 m long), constructed of brick and covered with plaster.
Continue to Wat Mahathat, one of Ayutthaya’s most iconic temple ruins, famous for the Buddha head entwined within tree roots.
Transfer to your hotel in Ayutthaya for check-in and overnight stay.
Day 2: Ayutthaya – Bangkok by Grand Pearl Cruise
07:30 Check-out and visit Bang Pa-In Summer Palace, the former royal summer residence featuring a blend of Thai, Chinese, and European architecture.
10:30 Transfer to Wat Chong Lom Pier.
11:30 Check-in at Grand Pearl Cruise.
12:00 Enjoy an international buffet lunch on board while cruising along the Chao Phraya River toward Bangkok.
Pass scenic riverside highlights including Koh Kret (Mon community island), the Royal Barge Museum, Thammasat University, Siriraj Hospital, the Grand Palace, Wat Kalayanamit, and the magnificent Temple of Dawn (Wat Arun).
15:00 Coffee break served on board.
16:00 Arrive at River City Pier, Bangkok. Disembark and transfer to your Bangkok hotel by private vehicle.
